Early Life
Ishan showed interest in cricket from an early age. He went to Nawada along with his parents so that he could continue playing cricket. He used to play cricket with his brother Raj, who once took him to Uttam Majumdar’s cricket academy.
At the age of 7, he led his school team for the school world cup in Aligarh. Ishan was selected for the Under 16 team in the All India School Games when he was 11 years old. Majumdar was impressed by Ishan’s splendid performance and he told Kishan’s father to never cease playing cricket.
His coach Uttam made Kishan undergo hard practice comprising all types of shots such as cut, pull, and square drive. It also included 300 throw-downs followed by 250 front and 250 back foot shadow strokes.
Education
He studied at the Delhi Public School in Patna, Bihar. Further, he joined the college known as the College of Commerce, Arts and Science (COCAS) Patna. After that, he went to Ranchi to pursue his aspirations of playing cricket.
Career
He was a versatile player from the very beginning. He represented his school team from a very young age. Ishan decided to make his career bright by stepping into his dream sport cricket. Initially, he faced some registration issues between the Bihar Cricket Association and the Board of Control for Cricket in India, hence he had to play for the neighbouring state of Jharkhand.
Top Scorer of Jharkhand and Setbacks
In 2016, he scored 273 runs against Delhi, which made a new record for a player of Jharkhand. In the same year, he was picked by Gujarat Lions because of his aggressive batting and was charged an amount of 35 lakhs against the base price of 10 lakhs.
It was a major setback for him as he was only 17 at that period. He played IPL seasons in 2016 and 17. the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy, Ishan was the lead scorer in the competition for Jharkhand, there he made 284 runs in 6 matches. Following the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, Ishan scored 405 runs in nine matches.
In the 2018-19 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he made an unbeaten century against Jammu and Kashmir. In 2018, Mumbai Indians acquired Ishan 6.2 crores against the base price of 40 lakhs. Unfortunately in the IPL 11 match in 2018, he also lost his right eye on the throw by Hardik Pandya.
He scored 113 not out against Manipur in the next match. In 2019, in the Under 19 World Cup he met Rahul Dravid for the first time where he was the under 19 coach. In the 2019-20 Duleep Trophy, he was named in India’s Red Squad and also in India A in the same month in October.

He was awarded Man of the Match in his debut T20I match by hitting his maiden T20I fifty scoring 52 runs off 32 balls against the country England.
